Our Dedicated and Inspiring Team

1st Heath Hayes Scout Group was originally started in 1980 to serve the area of Heath Hayes and its local families. We met in Bourne Methodist Church, St John’s Church hall and the Cabin in Heath Hayes for many years until 2005 when we had the opportunity to move to our current location at The Willows in Cannock.

Today, many of our young people still come from Heath Hayes but we now also cover Cannock, Longford and the surrounding areas. Our central location makes it easy for young people from all over Cannock to meet up and have exciting adventures.

Our Sections

Scouting is for boys and girls aged from 4 years upwards.

We have

  • Squirrel section (ages 4-6)
  • Two Beaver Colonies (ages 6-8)
  • Two Cub Packs (ages 8-10½)
  • Two Scout Troops (ages 10½-14)
  • One Explorer Unit (ages 14-18)

All our sections are run by a team of dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers.

We meet on weeknights during term time but frequently hold other events like camps, sleepovers, hikes, trips and visits.

We have fun and adventures, make good friends, learn new skills and generally have a laugh.

If that sounds like something you’d be interested in, why don’t you get in touch?

Volunteering can be a brilliant way to boost your mental wellbeing.
It’s a great feeling knowing you’re helping young people get skills for life, and you might even learn a lot about yourself along the way.
